Color Trends for 2017

Every year, there’s fresh talk about what the hot paint colors are.  If you’re up with trends, there are several to know about.

This world-renowned authority on color has released their choice this year and it’s called Greenery. Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, said the color “bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment.  Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

Pantone has also announced several colors that pair with their choice, so there are lots of décor choices can be made.

The well-known paint company has chosen a palette of 20 different colors for the year.  Colors like “Peek A Blue,” “In the Woods” and “That’s My Lime” are a part of their selection.  They say they designed the colors to be “inspirational and personal, tailored to help you create a home that fits your style and personality.”

Benjamin Moore

This paint company also came up with a single color they feel evokes nostalgia, called Shadow.  Ellen O’Neill, Creative Director of Benjamin Moore says, “Rich, royal amethyst can fade into the soft lilac-grey of distant mountains or morph into lustrous coal. Indulge your mysterious side. Let Shadow set the mood.”  Benjamin Moore has also introduced a palette that goes with the color at their website.

Elle Décor

This publication has come up with yet another list of colors you should decorate with this year.  Blues, greens and yellows seem to dominate their choices and they claim that interior designers will draw inspiration from your personality with these colors.  From their perspective, it depends on what you want to accomplish in the rooms you will paint.
