Cabinet refacing or cabinet replacing is a the question that many ask when they get into a kitchen remodel. If you like your current layout and just want a new look, you’ll find refacing your cabinets to be a more affordable way of updating your kitchen’s design.

Traditional remodels call for cabinets to be pulled out and replaced, but with refacing, you simply keep the existing cabinets and layout. Your cabinets get new doors and drawer fronts and a matching trim gets applied, refreshing the look of your kitchen.

Cabinet refacing will not work on damaged cabinetry that is close to falling apart. In this case, you will need to get new cabinets as refacing them will not make them last any longer than they can. Refacing will not solve any performance issues, refacing is more for the aesthetic. If your cabinets are deteriorating then you will most certainly have to look into getting brand new cabinets for your home.
